Crystal Palace are interested in signing Dutch defender Gregory van der Wiel, according to the Croydon Advertiser, but face competition from Swansea City.
The Eagles could go head to head with the Swans for the full-back this summer, who currently plays in Turkey’s Super Lig for Fenerbahce.
The 29-year-old, who made 14 appearances last season, has played under Palace boss Frank de Boer on a previous occasion, having come through the ranks at Dutch giants Ajax, whilst de Boer was at the helm of the Amsterdam club.
He has since gone on to play for French outfit Paris St-Germain, where he spent four years. Then in 2016, he made the switch to Eastern Europe.
De Boer is keen to reunite himself with Gregory van der Wiel, as he looks to bolster his defensive ranks ahead of what promises to be a tough season for Palace.
Swansea have had previous links with van der Wiel, however the Dutchamn opted to join Fenerbahce instead. Paul Clement also wants to boost his defence, and is willing to challenge De Boer for the right-back’s signature
