Crystal Palace’s new sporting director Dougie Freedman is set to make a bid for RB Leipzig winger Oliver Burke, according to a report from Dominic Fifield of The Guardian.
The Scottish winger is set to leave the Bundesliga side this summer and it’s thought that Palace are happy to pay around £15million to sign him.
Freedman worked with Burke at Nottingham Forset a couple of seasons ago and is said to be a fan and with Palace still pointless and goalless under Frank de Boer, it looks like there is a need to bring in some reinforcements in attack.
De Boer admitted that Palace were interested in Burke during an interview last week and with the 20-year-old not even making Leipzig’s squad for Saturday’s loss at Schalke, it looks certain that he’ll find himself at a new club this summer.
Palace’s new recruitment team will be hopeful of completing a few deals over the next few days, including one for a new centre-back.
