Crystal Palace announced the signing of Mamadou Sakho from Liverpool on deadline day.
The club confirmed that Sakho has joined the Eagles last night for an undisclosed fee, but respected journalists are saying the deal is worth £26m, the second biggest transfer fee Palace have ever paid for a player.
Ironically, the current club-record is also a signing from Liverpool. Palace paid around £30m to sign Christian Benteke from The Reds last summer, and he went on to become the club’s top goalscorer last season.
