Despite strong rumours that Jordon Mutch is a target for Reading in January, Reading boss Jaap Stam has insisted that the rumours have no substance to them, the Reading Chronicle report.
Mutch, 25, was loaned out to Reading in January last season and made nine appearances for the Royals as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League, losing to Huddersfield Town on penalties in the Play-Off final.
Former Palace boss Frank de Boer and current manager Roy Hodgson haven’t used Mutch this season at all, and has only made the matchday squad on three occasions so far during the current campaign.

This has led to reports surfacing that Reading were set to make an offer for the player in January to bring him to the Madejski.
When speaking to the Reading Chronicle, Stam said this:
Twitter: JS: ‘Jordon Mutch rumours are absolutely not true.’ #readingfc (@ChronCourtney)
However, Stam was quick to deny the rumours stating that they ‘are absolutely not true’.
It looks likely that Mutch will move on from Selhurst Park in January, however, it doesn’t look likely that he will be reuniting with Stam at Reading.
