Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has played down his side’s crucial 2-1 win against Stoke City and hopes that his side can improve as the season continues, according to a report on the Daily Mail.
Mamadou Sakho netted a stoppage-time winner for Palace on the weekend but the three points still see them at the bottom of the Premier League table.

The Eagles now have been given hope of escaping the relegation zone as they are three points away from 17th placed West Bromwich Albion but Hodgson is adamant that the team needs to improve.
It was another step along the way, another confirmation that what we have done in the last five games, to get us five points, is capable of getting us three points as well.
Especially if that luck which has really been deserting us starts to show its face again. There is not a lot of point in looking ahead to the end of the season. Let’s look ahead to Tuesday.
Palace have been boosted by the return of Belgian striker Christian Benteke and Hodgson will be hoping that the forward can regain his goalscoring form.
Benteke has failed to find the net so far this season but improved performances from Wilfried Zaha and Ruben Loftus-Cheek has seen them find their feet in attack.
