Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has revealed that defender Mamadou Sakho faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after picking up a “serious” injury, according to a report on the Croydon Advertiser.
The Frenchman was becoming a key figure at the heart of the Palace defence but had to be substituted in the 2-2 draw against Bournemouth in the Premier League.

The centre-back recently returned from a serious knee injury and has now been ruled out due to a muscular injury.
Hodgson said:
It’s far too early (to tell). It’s a serious muscle strain or tear and the doctors won’t put a timescale on that. It’s going to be a while that’s for sure. We’ll miss him, in this period he’s played a decisive role, been captain, shown his qualities and when you lose a player like that you can’t be anything other than disappointed and sad.
Palace face in-form Leicester City in the early kick off on Saturday and Hodgson revealed that young defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah is a doubt for the clash.
The Palace boss also confirmed that defenders Joel Ward and Damien Delaney are still out of action.
The London side have found some form in recent fixtures and have moved off the bottom of the table into 18th place.
