More Palace injury woes ahead of trip to Bournemouth

Crystal Palace have two strikers who are in doubt for the trip to the Vitality Stadium to face AFC Bournemouth.

Alexander Sorloth and Connor Wickham. Sorloth hasn’t scored for the Eagles since signing in the January transfer window, while Wickham is yet to make an appearance this season, not scoring since the 2-1 loss at home to Manchester City in November 2016.

This is due to a long term knee injury which has kept him out of action, while Sorloth has missed the last two matches, against Huddersfield Town and Liverpool, with a hamstring injury.

This leaves Christian Benteke as the only fit striker for Palace, despite him being incredibly out of form this season, scoring only twice, once in the emphatic 3-0 win away at Leicester City and once in the draw away at West Ham.

The team are also out of form, winning only one of the nine Premier League games, gaining only five points out of a possible 27.

This has seen Palace slip to 17th place, just two points ahead of Southampton who have a game in hand on the Eagles. However, in the upcoming penultimate six games of the season, Palace face four of the bottom 10 clubs.

These fixtures are crucial in Palace’s season as the race to escape the relegation zone gets tenser by the week and so injuries are not needed for Roy Hodgson’s men.
