Rangers are trying to sign midfielder James McArthur from Crystal Palace this summer, reports HITC.
The 30-year-old is out of contract in the summer and Rangers are trying to strengthen their midfield as they look to stop Celtic’s dominance in the SPL.
The Ibrox club have struggled to have a settled midfield this season, so bringing in a player of McArthur’s calibre would certainly help that.
Glasgow born McArthur grew up a Rangers supporter and they know he would be interested in the move, so the deal could come down to wages, as he currently earns £50,000 a week, an amount Rangers wouldn’t be able to offer.

If money was the deciding factor in McArthur’s future, staying in England would be the best bet for his future as his performances will not have deterred sides from trying to sign the Scottish international.
McArthur has played over 100 Premier League games for the Eagles since arriving from Wigan in 2014, including 30 this season.
With the manager’s situation at Rangers not known yet for next season either, McArthur could be swayed to avoid signing for his boyhood club for the time being.
