Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace are being linked with a move this summer to sign ex-Chelsea man and World Cup winner Andre Schurrle.
Schurrle is well known to English fans having spent two seasons at fellow London club Chelsea.
The German has been linked with a return to England before, with West Ham and Palace both said to have been interested in him.
Italian website Calciomercato is reporting that the Eagles are now the front-runners and will look to bid for the player this summer.
In his time at the Bridge Schurrle scored 11 goals in 44 Premier League appearances for the club, a decent return. Since leaving west London he has been back in the Bundesliga playing for Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsbug.
For Dortmund last season the winger scored three goals in 26 appearances across all competitions.
Schurrle has played 57 times for Germany, scoring 22 goals. He scored in the World Cup final in Brazil 2014, helping Joachim Low’s side to lift the trophy. For the World Cup in Russia this summer however, Schurrle has not been included in the squad.
