Crystal Palace are mulling over a decision to sell Andros Townsend this summer with his former side Newcastle keeping tabs on his situation at Selhurst Park.
As reported by the Chronicle Live, the Magpies have enquired about the one-time England international and are hopeful of concluding a deal.
Palace are considering allowing the player to leave, but they may be forced into lowering their asking price.

Roy Hodgson’s men were previously asking for £20 million from Newcastle, but the latter are unlikely to be able to match that offer.
Townsend joined Newcastle from back in January 2016 and became an instant hit with the fans.
He was unable to help steer them away from relegation and Palace activated his relegation release clause that summer.
Rafa Benitez has remained a fan since his short time working with the player and has tried to sign him on several occasions since, including during their stint in the Championship.
