Ruben Loftus-Cheek became rather popular at Crystal Palace last season.
The midfielder joined on loan at the start of the season, and impressed hugely during his campaign at Selhurst Park.
25 appearances was enough to catch the eye of England manager Gareth Southgate, and the versatile play-maker ended up playing an important role in the national side’s World Cup semi-final run.

Palace manager Roy Hodgson was under no illusion as to just how critical Loftus-Cheek was in last year’s Premier League survival, and revealed his desire to bring the international back to South London.
Speaking to TalkSPORT (and quoted by the Daily Star), Hodgson said:
We’d love to have him back there’s no question of that,
But of course that’s something that is totally and utterly in Chelsea’s hands.
I have no idea what their plans for Ruben are. They haven’t announced to us what their plans are and I’ve seen nothing written publicly.
Loftus-Cheek would be competing for playing time with N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Cesc Fabregas, Danny Drinkwater, Tiemoue Bakayoko, and Ross Barkley.
