Crystal Palace are among four Premier League clubs who are tracking FC Nantes striker Emiliano Sala, according to a report from the Daily Star on Sunday.
The Eagles have been in misfiring form this season and have lacked attacking inspiration, prompting Hodgson to weigh up his options ahead of the January transfer window.
Christian Benteke is still nursing an injury problem, while Jordan Ayew and Alexander Sorloth have not convinced when handed chances to impress.

This appears to have led Hodgson to identify Sala as a potential attacking target following his impressive start to the campaign for Nantes in Ligue 1.
Sala has found the net on 11 occasions in the top-flight of French football and has attracted plenty of interest. Palace, alongside Premier League trio Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham, are said to be pondering a move.
The 28-year-old is currently the joint-top scorer in Ligue 1 and his tally of 11 goals is matched only by Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.
