Andre Gray scored with 10 minutes remaining to knock Crystal Palace out of the FA Cup on Saturday, as Roy Hodgson’s side failed to progress to the semi final’s.
Michy Batshuayi scored his fifth goal in four games against Watford to cancel out Etienne Capoue’s opening goal in a wind affected encounter at Vicarage Road.
Hodgson has now lost three FA Cup quarter final’s as a manager, following defeats at this stage of the competition whilst in charge of Fulham in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 campaigns respectively.
Palace had beaten Watford in the FA Cup semi final of the 2015-16 season on their way to the final, but couldn’t progress against Javi Gracia’s side this campaign.
Watford have now beaten the Eagles three times this season after doing the double over Saturday’s opponents in the league.
