Luka Milivojevic netted his ninth (!) penalty of the season to break the deadlock and mass nerves around the stadium 15 minutes from time before Patrick van Aanholt sealed three big points near the end.
The result means Huddersfield have lost their Premier League status with six games left to play, equalling the record set by Derby County in the 2007-08 season.
Palace will take positives from the result though, and now sit eight points above the relegation zone and seven away from the top half of the table.
