When tasked with a list of Roy Hodgson’s best signings as Crystal Palace manager, it sounds straight forward.
But when you realise he’s only spent £20million on three players, excluding loan signings and free transfers, during his two seasons at the club, it makes the club’s mid-table finishes all the more impressive.
The former England manager was heavily touted to fail when he was given the job on the back of *that* horrendous EURO 2016 campaign, but he’s found balance in his team and that comes with correct signings.
Some of the arrivals during his stint in charge, like FC Midtjylland’s 23-year-old striker Alexander Sorloth, are seen as investments for the future, but this list focuses on those making an impact today.
With big money potentially coming in this summer for the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Wilfried Zaha, the Eagles may dive into the market more than usual over the summer.
That will all go through Hodgson though, and here is our five-man list of his best signings as Palace boss so far.
