Wilfred Zaha has refused to comment on his future following an approach worth up to £40 million from Arsenal being rejected by Palace, as quoted by the Mirror.
Zaha has been heavily linked with a move to his boyhood club, Arsenal, and the side have failed in their original attempt to sign the player. The fee that was proposed by the North-London side accumulated to around £40 million – a figure that Palace want to be doubled at least.
The 26-year-old is currently on international duty with Ivory Coast at the moment as they are competing in the AFCON and are one of the favourites for the tournament. Zaha is not interested in any transfer rumours and wishes to just focus all his attention to the next few crucial matches with his country.
Speaking about the transfer interest in him and his future at Crystal Palace, Zaha said:
I don’t know we’ll see in the future. I have no comment on it, the only thing that’s on my mind now is trying to win this cup. What I’m fixated on is how far we go in the tournament.
The winger has been a phenomenal asset for The Eagles since he rejoined the club in 2015 from his brief spell at Manchester United. This season, in particular, he has caught the eyes of many suitors. In 34 Premier League matches, he accumulated 10 goals and five assists, a brilliant tally for a player at a club sitting in 12th place.
There is still a lot of debate whether the player is worth the asking price of £80 million though. However, if Palace do not need the money, then there is no need to sell for cheap.
