Crystal Palace have made an £8m bid for Everton midfielder James McCarthy, according to Sky Sports.
The Irishman has hardly featured for the Blues after recovering from a broken leg and with just one year remaining on his deal at Goodison Park, he could be allowed to leave.
Everton seemingly have enough midfield options who are ahead of the Republic of Ireland star in the pecking order, so they might be willing to cash in and let him leave.
McCarthy joined Everton for around £13million in 2013 as he followed Roberto Martinez from Wigan, just months after the Latics won the FA Cup, and he’s gone on to play over 130 games for the Toffees.
However, McCarthy has found himself on the fringes ever since he broke his leg back January 2018 as he attempted to block a shot on goal by West Brom’s Salomon Rondon.
Aged 28, McCarthy still has a lot of football ahead of him and Crystal Palace seemingly want him to spend that future at Selhurst Park.
