Crystal Palace are interested in a summer move for Gary Cahill, according to the Daily Mail.
The 33-year-old is currently a free agent, having left Chelsea at the end of last season.
Palace’s defence was a weak-link in 2018/19 – they conceded 53 goals in 38 Premier League games – and Roy Hodgson is thought to be looking for reinforcements before the transfer window closes.
Cahill is available on a free transfer and a move to Selhurst Park could appeal at this stage in his career.
The centre-back is still at an age where he can be an asset to a top flight side, although his best days are probably behind him.
The veteran spent seven years as a Chelsea player, winning two Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2012.
He has also won 61 caps for England and was arguably his country’s standout centre-back for a period.
