Crystal Palace have reportedly opened talks with Dundee United over a £400,000 move for teenage winger Scott Banks.
According to the Daily Record, Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman has watched Banks on numerous occasions and the club have now launched a pursuit, however, face competition from Southampton.
The 17-year-old impressed on loan at Clyde last season, most notably in the Betfred Cup, and caught the attention of plenty of suitors. Leeds United and Manchester City have also sent scouts to watch him play.
