Crystal Palace fans will be delighted with the club bolstering its midfield options in the latter stages of the summer transfer window, and Everton supporters’ well wishes for James McCarthy should raise excitement levels.
The experienced Republic of Ireland international joined Victor Camarasa in joining the club yesterday for a reported fee of £3million.
Speaking to cpfc.co.uk, McCarthy shared how pleased he is to arrive at Selhurst Park following a frustrating period at Everton due to regular injuries.
I can’t wait to get started. It feels like a very nice club, nice family club. The fans obviously come out in their numbers and I spoke to James [McArthur], he couldn’t speak any more highly of it. I’m delighted to be here; it’s a fresh start that I thought I needed.

It’s anyone’s guess whether McCarthy will make his first appearance this weekend or not, but he certainly adds important depth to the squad and was clearly highly-respected at Goodison Park.
