Yes it is not too late for Crystal Palace to bring players in. Palace are in desperate need of a striker and they should certainly be looking into bringing a free agent in.
There are a number of players out there but the question is who?
Crystal Palace’s number one choice should be to bring in Daniel Sturridge. This is because Sturridge has proven himself as a Premier League goalscorer for Liverpool since signing from Chelsea in 2013.
Daniel Sturridge’s scored 50 goals for the Reds during his six year tenure at Anfield, and he would likely possess the requisite firepower needed to help propel Palace further up the Premier League table this season, with Wilfried Zaha, Christian Benteke and Jordan Ayew currently the only other options up front.
Assuming that Sturridge does stay fit then he should be a good fit for The Eagles, although Palace do have other options that they could to sign. One such option is former Tottenham forward Fernando Llorente, who like Sturridge is now a free agent after he was released following the expiry of his contract at the end of last season. The Spaniard may not solve Palace’s long-term striker situation but he’d undoubtedly improve quality depth in that department until at least the January transfer window.
Crystal Palace need a new striker desperately, and should they choose to wait until the January window to strengthen, could that be too late?
