Palace linked with move for Tavernier – a perfect Wan-Bissaka replacement?

James Tavernier would be an ideal signing for Crystal Palace, helping fill the void left by Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

According to talkSPORT, the Eagles are one of several clubs interested in signing the Rangers right-back in January.

The Scottish giants appear resigned to losing the 27-year-old, as he looks for a fresh challenge.

Replacing Wan-Bissaka may be an impossible task for Palace in many ways, considering his vast potential and the level he had already found at Selhurst Park.

Tavernier would be a shrewd acquisition, though, as he looks to prove himself in the Premier League during the peak years of his career.

The right-back has been a consistent performer for Rangers since joining from Wigan Athletic in 2015, providing attacking thrust and defending resolutely, as well as scoring an impressive 43 goals in 197 appearances.

Joel Ward is the current first choice right-back, but Tavernier would arguably represent a stronger, more exciting option moving forward.
