Daniel Sturridge would be an exciting signing by Crystal Palace, contrary to Simon Jordan’s controversial comments on the striker.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the former Palace chairman laid into Sturridge, outlining why he would never contemplate signing him:
Not in any parallel universe would I sign Daniel Sturridge. Not for me. I wouldn’t even give him a pay-as-you-play deal.
I wouldn’t want Sturridge in my dressing room or at my training ground around younger players.

Jordan’s comments are little more than a lazy opinion, however, with Sturridge often wrongly targeted for having supposed attitude problems.
In fact, the 29-year-old was a popular individual during his time at Liverpool, acting as a mentor to younger players such as Raheem Sterling and Joe Gomez.
Should the opportunity to sign Sturridge ever arise, it would be worth Palace taking a punt on the free agent.
While his professionalism is no issue, the injury problems that the striker has suffered means he is far from the player he once was, so a risk element would be involved.
Still hugely gifted and a lethal finisher, though, Sturridge would be an extra body in attack, capable of thriving if he stays fit.
