New Crystal Palace defender Gary Cahill has spoken very highly of Wilfried Zaha following his failed moves to Arsenal and Everton this summer.
Both Premier League clubs were vying for his signature, but Palace rejected both approaches, leaving the 26-year-old frustrated.
Cahill is full of praise for Zaha though, as cited by talkSPORT, and has explained how the crucial forward has reacted to staying at Selhurst Park:
Zaha has been first class, to be honest. I know how difficult it can be when things like that are circulating in your head and you have to go through these emotions so close to the start of the season. He’s been great, his attitude has been very, very good and I’m sure you’ll see that in the coming weeks.

The Eagles’ start to the 2019-20 campaign has been one to forget, but improvement should be visible once the former Chelsea centre-back is fit to start and Zaha is back to his best.
Losing Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Zaha in the same transfer window would’ve been a nightmare, and it’s very likely neither would’ve been replaced too judging by Dougie Freedman’s latest comments on the club’s summer business.
The Ivory Coast international’s attitude must be applauded, but it doesn’t necessarily bode well for the future.
Now entering the prime of his career, he’ll be eyeing a big move in the near future and Palace would be wrong to deny him that opportunity.
Whether that comes in January or in 12 months time is another story, but let’s just be happy Zaha has remained a Palace player for now.
