Four findings: Manchester United 1-2 Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace picked up their first win of the Premier League season with an impressive 2-1 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Eagles’ first win of the season was the perfect reaction to last weekend’s disappointing defeat to newly-promoted Sheffield United.

Having made four changes to last weekend’s line-up, Hodgson’s side opted for their usual counter-attacking style of play – a system that had great success last season in beating Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Jordan Ayew was one of the star performers for Palace as he started ahead of Christian Benteke who was poor at Bramall Lane last weekend.

New summer signing Gary Cahill made his league debut for the Eagles and showed just why Palace were keen to bring him to the club. His defensive awareness and security made him a stand-out performer versus a very attacking Manchester United side.

Here are four findings we found from the impressive away win.
