Crystal Palace were dumped out of the Carabao Cup last night, with Colchester United winning on penalties to progress to the next round.
After the game ended scoreless after 90 minutes, the game went to penalties, with an Andros Townsend miss proving costly for Roy Hodgson’s team.
Several Palace fans were disappointed with the result, with many angry that Palace exited at such an early round of the competition.

It certainly was a poor defeat, especially with the team that was put out by Roy Hodgson.
After the confidence-boosting win at United, this will certainly be a blow to the squad morale.
However, success in the cups is probably not on the agenda for Roy Hodgson, but it would always be a nice bonus for Palace to do well in them.
You’ve got to be beating teams like Colchester though, even with a rotated team.
