Crystal Palace almost secured a vital win at the weekend, but a late Wolves equaliser made sure the points were shared.
Palace took the lead through Joel Ward just after half time, and looked to have the game wrapped up.

However, a defensive lapse allowed Diogo Jota to score an equaliser for Wolves, and Palace fans were quick to blame one man for the goal.
Twitter: Patrick van Aanholt is playing with absolutely no confidence.
Every pass is backwards.
Never calling for the ball.… https://t.co/rnL58LEPN8 (@darrenmillard5)

Twitter: People blaming Benteke for that goal are deluded. Van Aanholt not closing the cross and Ward completely missing it… https://t.co/FpGi2xpTHs (@ImagineDzn)
Elliot shows just how poor the defender was defensively during the goal.

One of van Aanholt’s former bosses, Sam Allardyce, was heavily critical of the defender this week for “switching off”.
Well, he was certainly proven right after yet another howler.
The defender might as well switch to being a left-winger because defensively van Aanholt simply cannot cut it in this league.
He’s simply too inconsistent for his own good, and his constant errors are costing Palace valuable points in the long run.
The Dutchman needs to improve, and fast.
