Roy Hodgson is reportedly interested in bringing Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos to Sellhurst Park in a deal worth around £20 million, according to the Express.
The Colombian striker has been a fantastic asset for Steven Gerrard’s men for the last couple of seasons. This season in particular, he has netted 14 goals in all competitions already, playing in a total of 20 league games – proving he is clinical in front of goal.
This is what Palace are calling out for, as they are looking for clinical goal scorer since their attempts to lure Michy Batshuayi back to the club has faded and the deal looks increasingly unlikely.
Morelos is reportedly available for a fee in the region of £20 million, but Premier League rivals Aston Villa are also said to be interested. Is he worth the money?

Morelos is a striker who clearly knows how to put the ball in the back of the net – his goalscoring record proves that. However, at Rangers, he has struggled to score the goals when they really matter.
He is yet to score against Premiership rivals Celtic in the two and a half seasons he has been at the club and found it difficult to find the net once Rangers qualified to the group stages of the Europa League last season.
His discipline has been a cause for concern for the Gers as well, picking up four red and 14 yellow cards last season alone. Although, Gerrard believes that he has taken that part of his game out of his system now and he is a much more composed player.
However, apart from all this, his movement off the ball and strength to hold off his defenders is unplayable at times and it has made him a real problem for defenders in Scotland.
He is a pacey player who loves to make life difficult for oppositions and is not afraid of a physical battle at all – he actually relishes it.
He could be the sort of player that would be perfect for Crystal Palace if he improves his scoring tally against better oppositions.
But for now, until he improves his consistency, £20 million is a bit too steep for the Colombian. If they were able to lure him away from Ibrox for anywhere between £10-£15 million, that would be a much better.
