Crystal Palace could be hit with a blow ahead of their clash with Liverpool this weekend, with defender Joe Gomez reportedly winning his battle to be fit for the clash.
According to the Liverpool Echo, despite withdrawing from the England squad because of it, Gomez’ injury is not a serious one, and the defender is likely to be available for this weekend’s clash with the Eagles.
However it is not all good news for the Reds, with Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson both still recovering from ankle injuries.
Gomez, along with teammate Jordan Henderson, withdrew from the squad for the clash with Kosovo, with Gomez picking up a knock in training whilst Henderson failed to recover from illness.

The Eagles will have a job on their hands if they are to get a result against Liverpool, and Gomez being available just makes their job harder.
Gomez is a superb defender, and him being fit for the clash will just make the Eagles’ attacks job harder.
Therefore, this is a big blow for Roy Hodgson’s side.
