Crystal Palace midfielder Max Meyer has been ruled out of today’s clash with Manchester City, as reported on the official club website.
The Eagles travel to the Etihad Stadium to take on the defending champions but will have to make do without the German international.

Meyer suffered the injury during last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Arsenal as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s reckless challenge on him saw the Gabon international receive a straight red card.
Hodgson confirmed:
Obviously, we were hoping to recover Max Meyer but that’s not been possible. So we’re one further player down.

The Gunners appealed the decision in an attempt to reduce the ban from three games to one, but it was rejected.
We feel that Meyer was lucky not to come away with more serious damage as slow-motion replays showed his ankle twist in scary fashion.
To play away to Pep Guardiola’s men is tough enough, but I feel to do it without the creativity of Meyer will be even harder for the Eagles because of his ability to pick out a defence-splitting pass.
But, don’t forget, they surprised the world by winning at the Etihad last season, so we can’t rule anything out again this time.
