In January 2018, young midfielder Erdal Rakip joined Premier League side Crystal Palace on a half-season loan from Portuguese side Benfica.
After joining, Rakip spoke of his delight at making the temporary switch to the club and was fit and ready to leave his mark in the top-flight.
However, the Swedish international failed to make even one appearance for the Eagles.
As quoted on Fotbollskanalen, he said about his time at Palace:
At the same time, in Crystal Palace they had many injured and it went well in the beginning and I was on the bench the first five matches. I felt involved and was close.
Football can go fast. Had there been an injury, they would have been in the starting eleven and played.
You have to take a chance at life. It was an experience as a player as well.

We believe that Rakip looking back on his time at the club with even a slight hint of fondness is odd because he never even got a minute of action at the club.
The 23-year-old is now with Malmo and has played a total of 137 matches for the club, scoring 16 times and registering 13 assists in the process.
We believe that given the chance, he could have been a decent player for the Eagles but manager Roy Hodgson felt that he just did not have enough quality to make it in the first-team.
