Crystal Palace defender James Tomkins limped off the Goodison Park pitch just after the hour mark on Saturday.
The centre-back was replaced by fellow central defender Scott Dann for the remainder of the match, which Palace lost 3-1.
Following the match, Roy Hodgson revealed that he is not expecting good news about the hamstring injury.
As quoted on the club’s official website, the manager said:
He’ll have to have a scan. He’s definitely got a hamstring problem, there’s no doubt about that, and unfortunately, they normally take weeks rather than days.
I’m not expecting good news but we won’t know until the scan how bad the news is. Of course, it’s a shame to lose him.

The Eagles are having a torrid time with defensive injuries. As seen on Physio Room Premier Injuries, Hodgson is already without Mamadou Sakho, Martin Kelly and Jeffrey Schlupp.
Tomkins has played 17 times in the Premier League this season and judging by Hodgson’s remarks, he may be out of action for a few weeks.
This injury reinforces the argument that Palace should have strengthened their defensive unit in the January transfer window, which Hodgson has admitted was a failure.
Palace came incredibly close to signing West Brom full-back Nathan Ferguson last month, but the move broke down after an issue during his medical. We feel this may now be viewed as a big blow because he could have been ideal in providing cover in situations like this as he can also operate as a centre-back.
Dann is fit and after he was called upon to replace Tomkins for the rest of the encounter with Everton, he may have to do the same for the next couple of weeks while Tomkins recovers.
