Crystal Palace midfielder Andros Townsend has received plenty of praise from the club’s fan base for one heartwarming gesture towards a young fan.
One young Palace fan’s mother posted a picture of her daughter’s shirt collection which has the number of her age on the back each year and with her set to turn 10 this year, she revealed her daughter’s excitement to get Townsend’s number on the back of her new shirt.
The former Tottenham Hotspur man replied to the tweet, promising to send over a match worn shirt to the young girl.
This has resulted in many Palace fans heaping praise on the Englishman, who recently just returned from injury.
Townsend has made 15 appearances in the Premier League this season, finding the back of the net once and also registering one assist.
The 28-year-old also made one appearance in the Carabao Cup this season.
He missed eight matches over the festive and New Year period with an injury but is now back fully fit. These fans showered praise on him on Twitter.
