Crystal Palace left-back Patrick van Aanholt scored a stunning free-kick to help his side to a 1-0 victory over Newcastle United last Saturday.
The defender powered the ball into the top corner beyond the sprawling Martin Dubravka to inspire the Eagles to victory at Selhurst Park.
The former Chelsea man was quick to react to the win on Twitter, with many of the club’s fans responding to his post with positive messages.
As reported on Sky Sports, Dutch side PSV Eindhoven were keen to sign the 29-year-old in the January transfer window, but a move did not materialise.
The Dutchman’s goal took his total tally in the Premier League this season to three, netting against Manchester United and West Ham United earlier this season (Transfermarkt).
Roy Hodgson’s side will now take on rivals Brighton and Hove Albion this weekend in what is expected to be a feisty encounter near the foot of the Premier League table.
These fans on Twitter praised Van Aanholt for his goal and display.
