Crystal Palace will take on rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League this weekend.
Palace boss Roy Hodgson has plenty of players returning from injuries at the moment and has been hit with an unlikely selection headache.
The Eagles secured the loan signing of striker Cenk Tosun from Everton last month and his arrival has given Hodgson an important decision to make up front.
He now has to decide whether to start Christian Benteke or Tosun as the main forward, as he continues to use the 4-3-3 formation.
We believe that this selection dilemma could be a blessing in disguise for the Palace boss. Why?
Mainly because it will push both forwards to play to the best of their ability. Tosun netted on his full debut for the club against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium and it seems the Turk’s form has sparked Benteke to life.
The Belgian international scored his first goal since April 2019 during the 3-1 defeat against Everton before the winter break and has looked lively in attack, making runs in behind and being a nuisance in the air.
Hodgson opted to start Benteke during the 1-0 win over Newcastle last weekend but Tosun showed passion and energy when he emerged from the bench late on.
Having two fit, hungry and passionate strikers is great for Hodgson because it now means that they will more than likely motivate each other to become even better as they will both want to be starting for the Eagles.
A win-win scenario for the veteran boss, in our opinion.
