The Athletic journalist Matt Woosnam has claimed that Crystal Palace are likely to make a summer move for West Brom defender Nathan Ferguson.
Palace were interested in a January deal for Ferguson, only for the deal to fall through at the last minute. Woosnam now says that they could reignite their interest and attempt to sign him in the upcoming transfer window.
Speaking in his Athletic Q&A, Woosnam said:
It’s likely that Palace will revisit the [Nathan] Ferguson and [Rayan] Ait-Nouri deals with West Bromwich Albion and Angers in the summer, and look to bring in a striker, too.

The club needs to move quickly in order to strike a deal with Ferguson due to his contract situation. Ferguson’s current deal at West Brom expires this summer and he is set to become a free agent. This means that a number of clubs could end up looking to snatch a bargain deal by signing him once he officially leaves West Brom.
This is why Palace need to act swiftly. If they dawdle and wait too long they could end up missing out on the England under-20 international as other clubs look to profit from his situation at West Brom.
Ferguson has impressed in the Championship this season for West Brom and shown his versatility by playing in a number of different positions across the backline. He has played at right-back and left-back, as well as a centre-back in the U23s, and could offer Roy Hodgson a variety of options in his team selections next season if he is able to bring him to Selhurst Park.
