Crystal Palace are reportedly set to make a move for CSKA Moscow forward Fyodor Chalov in the summer, who could be the answer to their goalscoring woes.
According to the printed edition of The Mirror, as highlighted by HITC, Palace, Brighton and West Ham are all keen on a deal for Chalov.
The report claims that Palace are ready to spark a bidding war for the Russian, who is apparently valued at £25m by his club.
Palace have struggled going forward in the Premier League this season and strengthening their attack this summer could help them to push on next term and compete for a European place. They have only scored 26 goals in 29 games, meaning they have the second-worst offensive record in the division.
Chalov has scored 21 league goals for Moscow in the last two seasons combined in Russia, despite only being 21. This shows that he could have a bright future and the potential to develop into an excellent goalscorer, if he is able to maintain consistency and improve as he progresses.
He has also already shown that he can produce under pressure, with three goals in his last seven starts in the Champions League and Europa League for Moscow.
If Palace are able to secure his services, he could be the goalscoring threat they need to kick on in the Premier League.
He could add more goals to their side and along with the likes of Wilfried Zaha and Jordan Ayew, he could help Palace to climb further up the table next season.
