Crystal Palace are poised to demand a fee of £80 million for Wilfried Zaha this summer if any interested clubs make a move for the forward.
According to Jack Rosser, of the Evening Standard, Zaha has appointed a new agent and could be looking to get a transfer this summer, but the club will ask for £80m for him.
The report claims that Palace’s stance from previous transfer windows has not changed and £80m is the fee needed to prize him away from Selhurst Park.
This decision from Palace could be key in keeping Zaha at the club next season, as long as they stick to their valuation and do not waver. The winger has been indifferent this season and racked up just three goals and three assists in the Premier League to date, showing that he has struggled to produce in the final third.
Despite his shortage in the goals and assists department, he is still excelling in other areas. He is averaging 4.7 completed dribbles and one chance created per game. This suggests that his overall play has still been to a high level, but he just needs to be more clinical in the box.
Taking all of this into consideration, though, it seems unlikely that a club would want to pay £80m for a player who has struggled to perform this season. However, he is showing signs that he could still be a key player yet again for Palace in the 2020/21 campaign and that keeping him could be a boost.
