Crystal Palace Interested In Former Premier League Star

Crystal Palace are interested in signing Idrissa Gueye from Paris Saint-Germain according to French outlet Le10Sport.

Palace are joined by fellow Premier League club West Ham in their interests whilst rumours linking the ex-Everton star with Wolves and Manchester United have subsided in recent weeks.

The Senegalese midfielder, who only departed England last summer in a £30m move to the French giants, could now be allowed to return as the Parisian club look to balance their books.

Whilst any interest from all parties remains in its infancy, the link with a switch to Selhurst Park is an interesting one.

Roy Hodgson’s squad certainly lacks legs in midfield, something Gueye is renowned for offering, his high energy style coupled with his tackling ability would certainly aide the Palace cause.

The 30-year-old made a decent impact in his first season with the Champions League finalists, making 34 appearances in all competitions.

His defensive capabilities offer the attack-minded French champions the freedom to play with the security of someone like Gueye behind them tidying up the mess.

Should Gueye be formally offered to clubs, Hodgson and Palace would be wise to throw their hat into the ring as a potential suitor.
