Crystal Palace duo Adam Wharton and Dean Henderson have been included in the list of nominees for EA Sports FC 26 Premier League Team of the Season. The English pair have enjoyed fine seasons at Selhurst Park.
Henderson is one of five goalkeepers up for the number one spot in the team. He faces competition from Arsenal’s David Raya, Manchester City’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, Everton’s Jordan Pickford and Sunderland’s Robin Roefs.
Wharton, meanwhile, has 14 other central midfielders battling it out for a place in the team. He’s up against Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro, Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez and Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes.
Other names in contention include Everton’s James Garner, Aston Villa’s Boubacar Kamara and Morgan Rogers, Arsenal’s Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi, Leeds United’s Robin Stach, Liverpool’s Dominik Szoboszlai and Sunderland’s Granit Xhaka.
Henderson and Wharton Nominated
Henderson has been heroic yet again for Palace this season, putting in inspired displays between the sticks. The new Eagles skipper has kept 10 clean sheets in 29 league appearances.
The 29-year-old English shot-stopper has continued to impress following his excellent FA Cup-winning campaign. He does face heavy competition given Raya’s importance in Arsenal’s title challenge and Donnarumma’s quick adaptation to life at City.
Wharton remains one of English football’s most admired midfielders and has been hugely important to Oliver Glasner. The 22-year-old has made 27 appearances in the league, registering five assists.
The Palace man finds himself in a similar battle as the one for a place in England’s World Cup squad. Fellow countrymen Rice, Garner, Anderson and Rogers are having stellar seasons at their respective clubs.

Palace fans can get behind Henderson and Wharton by voting for them on EA’s official website. The voting is open now and closes on Friday, April 10th at 7:00 BST.
EA FC gamers might already be aware of the Eagles duo’s Ultimate Team cards. Both were awarded Team of the Week cards after wins against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur.
Henderson is rated 81 overall, while Wharton is rated 79. The pair were both handed 85 ratings for their Team of the Week cards.
Glasner won’t want his players to be thinking about gaming ahead of their biggest game of the season. His troops face Fiorentina in the first leg of their Europa Conference League quarter-final on Thursday (April 9th).
