Crystal Palace have travelled to the South Coast to face Bournemouth in the Premier League today (May 3). If Steve Parish had his way, Oliver Glasner will be going up against the man who succeeds him this summer.
Andoni Iraola is the Eagles’ top choice to replace Glasner when the Austrian coach departs in June following the expiration of his contract. Interest in the Spaniard has been confirmed by David Ornstein, although Chelsea’s managerial vacancy has raised doubts over him taking over.
Palace might well have one eye on their UEFA Conference League semi-final second-leg clash against Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday. But Glasner will likely still pick a team he expects to win.

What Glasner Has Said
Glasner spoke in his pre-match press conference and told reporters that he expects ” a very intense game.” He also praised the Cherries, calling them “one of the highest intensities in the Premier League, having a lot of runs in behind, a lot of pace in their attack, and also with their full-backs.”
The Palace boss added that they have a “good manager” and have a “good team” with “good players.” He spoke glowingly of Iraola:
“I think he’s done an amazing job there, but I never think too much about other managers or other teams, because my focus is on Crystal Palace and our team.”
Palace sit 14th in the Premier League, with 43 points from 33 games, and European qualification is off the cards. They face a Bournemouth side dreaming of a top-seven finish, sitting eighth, only three points off a sixth-placed Europa League spot.
