Brighton vs Crystal Palace Preview: Team news, form and where to watch

Crystal Palace take on Brighton when they travel to the Amex Stadium on Sunday.

Pierre Sage’s side will be looking to build on their recent win over Nottingham Forest and put Thursday’s European defeat behind them.

Brighton sit third in the Premier League table with 13 points from six matches, while Crystal Palace are 12th with seven points.

Brighton are enjoying good numbers upfront with 18 goals scored and conceded just five, compared with Palace’s nine scored and 12 conceded.

Brighton vs Crystal Palace: Form and head-to-head

Brighton arrives on the back of three consecutive wins. They beat Arsenal 3-0, followed that up with a 2-0 victory over Sunderland and then defeated FK Kauno Zalgiris 4-0.

Their home record in the league has also been strong, with four wins, one draw and one defeat in their last six matches at the Amex.

Palace have had a mixed run of fixtures. They drew 0-0 with Leeds, beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 and then lost 3-2 to Lyon in the Europa League.

Away from home in the Premier League, the Eagles have managed only one win in their last six, alongside two draws and three defeats.

Palace will take confidence from their most recent win over Brighton, which came in February when Ismaila Sarr scored the only goal. The other meeting of the previous season at Selhurst Park in November ended goalless.

Across 18 Premier League meetings since Brighton’s promotion, Palace have six wins, Brighton have four and the other eight games have been draws.

Crystal Palace team news

Axel Disasi will miss Sunday’s match as he serves the final game of his three-match Premier League suspension following his red card against Ipswich. Chadi Riad is also unavailable for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Jean-Philippe Mateta could be in contention after missing the trip to Lyon while recovering from a hamstring problem.

Sage has offered hope of a return, saying: “There might be some chance of seeing him this weekend.” However, Jorgen Strand Larsen is expected to lead the line if Mateta is not ready.
