Crystal Palace fans have been crying for a left-back for a number of months now in the January transfer window and their wish may about to be answered as reports from both BBC Wales Sport and Sky Sports are linking the club with Swansea defender Neil Taylor.
The 25-year-old has made 188 appearances at Swansea since joining from Wrexham in 2010, re-establishing himself as a Premier League regular under Garry Monk, after being overlooked for a number of seasons at the Liberty Stadium after putting together a good run of games in the Welsh sides’ first season in Premier League.
Reports from BBC Wales Sport suggested that Crystal Palace have made a bid in the region of £3m, collaborating with Sky Sports who are claiming the a bid in that region from Alan Pardew’s side has been rejected.
The current custodian of the South London side was linked to a move for Taylor during his time at Newcastle United and with other Premier League clubs such as West Brom being interested in the player, Swans manager Garry Monk will be looking for an increased sum to release the player.
Following Ben Davies’ move to Tottenham in the summer, Taylor has been the number one option at left-back at the Liberty Stadium but with Monk looking for somebody to compete with the Welsh international – would a move benefit him?
