Pierre Sage faces an uncertain future as recent results have added speculation about Crystal Palace replacing him.
Crystal Palace have been linked with a host of names including and Thomas Frank comes up as a strong contender for the job.
The Eagles currently sit 17th in the Premier League table with just 7 points from eight games. Recent results have only added more pressure to Pierre Sage who faces a tricky EFL Cup game against Fulham next.
Thomas Frank is emerging as one of the leading candidates to take charge of Crystal Palace if the club decide to part ways with Pierre Sage, according to Football Insider.
The Dane is understood to have several admirers among the Palace board, with the club assessing its options amid growing pressure on Sage.
Thomas Frank has been out of work since leaving Tottenham in February and is reportedly open to a move to Selhurst Park if the opportunity arises.
Crystal Palace identify Thomas Frank as key option
Frank’s Premier League experience is believed to be one of the main reasons behind Palace’s interest.
“Frank already has 178 Premier League games under his belt as a manager, and that experience could be vital for Palace in what remains of this campaign.” Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider said.
The report adds that Frank is already high on the club’s list of potential replacements as they consider whether to make a change in the coming weeks.
“Palace are assessing their options to potentially replace Sage in the coming weeks, and Frank is already at the forefront of their thinking.
“The likes of Sean Dyche and Kieran McKenna have also been heavily linked with the job.”
Palace have struggled for consistency under Sage, with their recent results raising questions over the Frenchman’s position. The club have not announced a decision on his future, but the continued links with alternative managers suggest they are considering their next move.
Frank open to Selhurst Park opportunity
Football Insider also reports that Thomas Frank remains open to joining Palace if the club make an approach. His availability could make him an appealing option should the board decide Sage has run out of time.
Sean Dyche and Kieran McKenna are also reportedly in the frame, giving Palace several possible options to take if they decide to change manager.
Palace’s next decision will depend on whether they believe Sage can turn the situation around or whether a new manager is needed to change the team’s fortunes.
