Ismaila Sarr was at the centre of a failed transfer move to Liverpool and Galatasary. Although there have been news of a new contract for Sarr, he continues to garner interest from club’s across Europe.
Galatasaray are considering another attempt to sign Ismaila Sarr when the January transfer window opens following a summer of transfer speculation.
According to Football Insider, the Turkish giants remain keen on Sarr after seeing their previous approach rejected in the summer.
Liverpool were also interested in the Senegal international during the summer, but a move to Anfield now appears unlikely.
Galatasaray interest in Ismaila Sarr remains
Speaking on Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Pete O’Rourke suggested Galatasaray could return for the Palace forward in January.
“Sarr, obviously his future at Crystal Palace was the subject plenty of speculation during the summer transfer window.
“Liverpool were interested, Galatasaray were interested as well, and I’m sure Galatasaray would still be interested in the chance to bring him to the Turkish Super League.
“They did make a move for him during the summer, but obviously he ended up staying at Crystal Palace after the window closed.
“There’ll be interest from the Saudi Pro League in Ismaila Sarr as well because of everything that happened during the summer, so that interest is not dying down.”
Could Sarr sign a new Crystal Palace contract?
Despite the continued interest from clubs across Europe and Saudia Arabia, Sarr’s future at Selhurst Park remains open.
A report covered by Read Crystal Palace previously suggested the winger could instead sign a new contract with the Eagles after his summer transfer failed to materialise.
Liverpool were understood to have submitted a £50million offer, but Crystal Palace refused to sell. The situation became difficult, with Sarr making only two appearances for the club after his agent publicly criticised Palace.
His situation has since changed, and a new deal could offer a way forward if both sides want to move on from the summer’s disagreement.
Ismaila Sarr is set to take the centre stage again when the January transfer window opens if a new deal is not agreed with Crystal Palace.
