Crystal Palace defender Brede Hangeland has signed a new one year contract with the club.
The Norweigian international was signed by the Eagles on a free transfer in 2014 after he left Fulham. He made 17 appearances and scored two goals for Palace last season.
The 33 year old had to compete with Scott Dann and Damien Delaney for a place in the starting eleven.
On the 10th of June, he was released by Palace along with a host of other players. But Alan Pardew has had a change of heart and has decided to hold on to the centre back.
Hangeland told the official site:
“I’m delighted to have signed with Crystal Palace for the new season. I have really enjoyed working under Alan Pardew and we have a very talented squad who are all a really good bunch of lads to be around.
“These are very exciting times at the club and I look forward to playing a part in making next year in another successful one.”
