Crystal Palace are set to reward James McArthur with a new deal, according to various media outlets.
The midfielder has two years remaining on his contract and Palace did not want him entering the penultimate year in his deal without having signed an extension.
The Scottish international, who is the club’s record singing, started his playing career at Hamilton Academical. He made his debut there when he was a teenager and established himself in the side, managing to amass over 150 appearances for the South Lanarkshire side.
His rise and form attracted interest from several Premier League clubs but it was Wigan Athletic who won the race. He signed for a fee reported to be £500,000 and spent four seasons there. He was part of the team that shocked Manchester City and won the FA Cup in 2013.
The following year, Wigan accepted a £7 million bid from Palace and McArthur was on the move again, this time to London where he became a regular at Selhurst Park.
The 27-year-old also has 18 caps for Scotland.
