Palace midfielder wanted by South Coast side

Plymouth Argyle are awaiting an update from Crystal Palace regarding their promising midfielder Hiram Boateng’s current fitness and injury status as boss Derek Adams looks to take back the powerful youngster on a second loan spell this season.

Boateng’s initial loan spell at Plymouth was scheduled to expire on January 2nd, however, he was forced to return to Selhurst Park after it was confirmed that he would need medical treatment from the Premier League outfit for an ankle ligament injury.

This came as a big blow to Plymouth and, of course, Boateng as the promising Palace starlet was enjoying an excellent spell at the League Two outfit.

However, now that Boateng has featured on two occasions at under-21 level for the Eagles, a late January move out on loan could be in the offing for him, with Plymouth front-runners to re-sign him.

Manager Adams did remain coy on their chances with the midfielder, though.

I have spoken to Crystal Palace but there is no decision that yet. Crystal Palace have been very good to me. We will just wait and see.

Plymouth are reportedly one of many clubs to take an interest in Boateng this window, so a move back to the Pilgrims could be one that will be contested by other potential suitors.

However, it looks as though Boateng’s preferred destination for the remainder of the season is back with Argyle, and a move is in the offing.
