Zaha wins Player of the Month award

Crystal Palace fans have voted winger Wilfried Zaha the Mansion Player of the Month for January, as reported by the official CPFC website.

The 23-year-old was selected as the best player for Palace in what proved to be a very difficult month for the club.

The Eagles lost all four of their league games in January, but did defeat both Southampton and Stoke City in the FA Cup and Zaha scored the winner in both games.

With so many defeats, it would have been a difficult choice to choose a standout player, but those two winning goals in the cup probably swayed the voters towards the England international.

Those two goals have set up a tricky fifth-round tie away to Tottenham, one of the sides who defeated Palace in January.

Before that game, however, Alan Pardew’s men will welcome Watford to Selhurst Park and they know that a victory will see them leapfrog Quique Sánchez Flores’ side in the Premier League table.
