Crystal Palace and Everton eyeing up young French defender

According to France Football, Crystal Palace and Everton are interested in Toulouse defender Issa Diop.

At just 19-years-old, Diop has already played seven Ligue 1 matches for Toulouse and both the Eagles and the Toffees are thought to have been scouting him over the last few months as they both prepare their summer transfer strategy.

The central defender has put in a number of impressive performances in the first-team, despite being such a young age. He is seen as one of France’s next best defenders and has been touted as a future French full international.

Signing him could prove to be a massive coup for Palace if he fulfils his supposed potential and becomes a top-class central defender.

With both Brede Hangeland and Damien Delaney coming towards the latter stages of their career, a young face at the back could be good for the Eagles as it’s always important to have a core of younger players ready to make the step up.
